The Case File

A crematorium chapel in an unremarkable town. Five funerals, five stories nobody in the room actually knows.

A framed funeral portrait of a smiling, broad-shouldered man, with the caption Nobody Really Knew.
Premise

Townley Crematorium holds a funeral most weeks, and almost nobody in the pews knows who they're really mourning. Epilogue-Agog follows five of those services in a row — each opening with the same line, "nobody really knew…" — and each one hiding something stranger than the eulogy lets on.

By the time the last funeral is over, who will be left standing in Townley?

Built as a five-part noir anthology in the vein of interlocking crimes and dystopian irony, recommended for teen readers and up. The full story, and the reasoning behind it, starts with the author's own preface in the companion file sampler below.

Q&A

Frequently Asked

What is Epilogue-Agog?

A 32-page full-colour British dark comedy debut graphic novel by Andrew Pounder, with noir undertones: a crime anthology told through five eulogies delivered at a single crematorium chapel, each hiding a very different reality.

Is Epilogue-Agog a British graphic novel?

Yes. Epilogue-Agog is an independent British graphic novel, written by Andrew Pounder and set in the fictional English town of Townley.

What genre is Epilogue-Agog?

A dark comedy crime anthology with noir influences — five interconnected stories told through funeral eulogies, blending gritty crime plotting with surreal, darkly comic twists.

What's the connection between the main graphic novel and the Companion File?

The main 32-page graphic novel tells the core five-funeral dark comedy crime story. The Companion File is a behind-the-scenes reference document, with character concept art, the story's relationship matrix, and material cut from the main book.

How much does it cost?

The main graphic novel is $19.99. The companion file is sold separately at $12.99, but well worth buying together for those wanting to know more about the character backgrounds as they turn the pages of the main story.

Is it available as a physical book or digital download?

Epilogue-Agog is printed on demand as a physical book (A4 portrait, full colour) via Books.by. A free 6-page sampler of each edition is available to read online as a digital preview.

Where can I buy it?

Both editions are self-published, print-on-demand through Books.by, under the creator profile andrew-pounder. Merchandise is available now on Redbubble. The author can be contacted directly for enquiries about specially signed copies of both books, as well as signed prints (UK only).

Where do physical books ship from and how long does delivery take?

Shipping, delivery times, and order fulfilment are handled directly by Books.by as part of their print-on-demand ordering process. For shipping regions, delivery estimates, or any order-specific questions, please refer to Books.by directly.

Can I buy art prints or character merchandise from the book?

Yes. Character portraits are available now as apparel and stickers through the Redbubble store, and select panel scenes will be available as wall art via the virtual gallery experience, each linking directly to the Redbubble store.

Is it suitable for children?

Recommended for teen readers and up (13+). It's a dark comedy crime anthology — organised crime, blackmail and death played for dark laughs — written without graphic gore or sexual content.

Who made this?

Epilogue-Agog is the first graphic novel from Andrew Pounder, who also runs the fine-art photography brand Wall Space North and his personal fine-art photography practice at art-photography.uk.
